Michael, Andy, and Jacob began the project that became Salt Fox in 2016, inspired by a decade-old list of self-improvement goals found in a ruined apartment. The building they practiced in was torn down and the group stalled until they were invited to perform at a digital music festival during the pandemic. These days the group can be found performing their freshman EP “Places” on the weekends in Cedar Falls, Des Moines, Minneapolis and beyond and operating their gutter installation service during the week. Artist/producer Jim Swim blends alternative hip-hop, indie soul, and bedroom pop to craft warm and wavy songs that move head and heart. Swim's songs unwind like good conversation, moving from the everyday to the abstract, the personal to the universal, with honest ease. His original production, versatile flow, and lyrical insight have earned a loyal underground following that continues to grow.

Because the five members of 24thankyou — Emma Parker, Ethan Traugh, Michael Muhlena, Scott Griffin and Nick Wilkins — each do a bit everything on Everything I Was, Burning Slow (the debut album from this Iowa City band) their songs sound like they’ve been done by a single set of hands. The DIY-style production, handled in-house by the band, globs on ambiance throughout the album, in part via room tone and environmental sound.

Night Dangers are a rock band from the Midwest formed by longtime friends Andrew Philp, Cody Brown, Benjamin Weitzel and Joshua Sparks. Inspired by heavy hitters from the 90’s alternative rock circuit, these sonic notes blend together to create something refreshingly loud, earnest and chock full of melody. Teamed up with legendary producer Brad Wood for their latest EP, it’s a strong indicator that their best is yet to come.

Bella Moss is an up-and-coming artist from Dubuque, Iowa, with a pure, mellow voice that has the power to captivate an audience. Gathering inspiration from artists like Robin Pecknold and Devonte Hynes, Bella found her love of music at a young age. Her heartfelt folk style is clear and transcends genres. She began learning guitar off YouTube and has evolved to play the banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, violin, and harp. Starting at age 16, Bella started performing at open mic nights around Dubuque. She has since opened for artists such as Johanna Warren, who was named Rolling Stone’s “artist you need to know.” She also has worked with Grammy Award Winning Audio Engineer Michael Cogdon. Bella’s debut album "Midwestern Daydreams," is on all streaming platforms.
